I'm on a roll

When I was looking for the link for the last project posted I came across two cute ones that I printed and kitted quick. Who knew how quick....I just finished I'm Wicked in a little over an hour.

This one is by Stitches N Stones. It called for GAST, Crescent Colours, Carrie's Creation or DMC. Of course I went and chose my own and used Six Strand Sweets. I used Blackberry Cordial, Wintergreen, Guava, Lemonade, DMC white and black. It is stitched on 28ct evenweave. The pic doesn't show it so well but the fabric is a very light mint green.

I'm still not sure what I'm going to finish it as but I'm sure I will come up with something :)

A Tiny Finish

I actually forgot I started this little guy. This one is by Vivian Bales. It was originally a freebie on http://www.stitchesnstones.com/ but I looked and it isn't there anymore. I found Vivian Bales' site: http://www.nn.dlpgraphics.ca/blog/

I stitched this on 18ct fiddler's cloth with DMC and threads by Free Spirit Designs (no longer in production). I mounted it on a piece of stiffened felt.

I really think this is perfect for the freezing weather righ now :)

Halloween all framed

I waited for a sale at Michaels and had them frame Halloween. Even at 57% off it was still expensive. I think for now on I will have my boyfriend make the frames and I can stretch and frame them myself. If needed I can foot the bill for a nice mat where needed. Here is the pic :)

Finished my contest sampler

I finished the contest sampler by Wiehenburg Samplers. They will do the voting in December.
It will be finished as a wall hanging. I should have a picture of that tomorrow.

I used Vikki Clayton silks and GAST and some Kreinik. The butterfly bodies were done with DMC Perle and Kreinik.

Been Stitchin'!

My friend Gina and I have been sitting out on the back deck and watching Stargate on my laptop since last week. This is a good thing cause if my laptop is playing movies I can't be stuck on facebook apps LOL I decided to pull out some stitching! Here are some progress pics.

This is Velcome by Lizzie Kate. Until the movie marathon only the head and bow of the ghost was done.

This is Picasso's Rooster by Lady Bug Lane. I'm doing this for my mom. I thought it was going to be a quick stitch but I think my confidence got the better of me on this one cause I keep on miscounting! Now I have to get some tape to get that faint blue line out because it was supposed to be yellow!

Have an orange or tangarine started on Lemons Limes and More by Vermillion! Also worked a bunch on the leaves.

Almost done Christmas Word Tree by M Designs. Just a few more letters to go.

A Stiching tip......Beeswax works better on Rayon, Thread Heaven works better on silk.

I also have been stitching on my Contest Sampler but have to take a pic at work tonight.

A small update

I haven't done alot of stitching over the past few months but I finally got a little done in the past couple of weeks and even some tonight. I took pics so I can prove it :)

This is for a sampler contest by Wiehenburg Designs and is also affiliated with Bush Mountain Stichery. This is the center flower so far. The contest wants the piece to be finished by November and they give you the design and you get to choose the fabric and fibers to give it you own flare. I have decided to use Vikki Clayton Silks for the flowers and GAST for the stems. So far I like how it is turning out.

This is my progress on Christmas by M Designs. Before tonight I only had most of the S done and then sort of lost steam. I had the S all done and didn't like it because I used two strands of rayon and didn't like the way it looked bunched so I had to frog it gently (I can still see where some of the stitches were and will have to try to push the fabric back in to place later). I changed to 1 strand and instead of Thread Heaven I'm using a beeswax block that I bought from Bush Mountain Stitchery. I like the way the rayon is controlled with the beeswax. Thread Heaven was not working so well. I finished up the S, did the entire T and started the M, all while watching a "instant view" movie on Netflix. Movie was called Lightspeed and had Lee Majors in it. Don't bother it sort of sucked.

Winter Buddy is finished.

I finished Winter Buddy by Waxing Moon. I stitched him on 28ct Permin Linen from Silkweaver.

In the spirit of the Spring that has begun to show here and there, I'm going to start Checkered Bunnies by M Designs. I bought the kit during my shopping spree at Bush Mountain last month.

Olympic Finish!

I joined an Olympic Challenge going on at one of my yahoo groups. The goal was to start a project during the opening ceremonies and finish it before the closing ceremonies. I finished a few days early! I can't believe it lol

I chose Margarita by Glory Bee. I used a 32ct linen, mill hill beads and a worm button from Just Another Button Company (just wasn't in the mood to make one LOL)

I think I need one of these drinks right now!

Update

Haven't stitched too much this week. I joined an Olympic Challenge with one of my groups. The challenge is to start a project during the Opening Ceremonies and finish before the Closing. I chose to do Margarita by Glory Bee. I have the glass finished except for the beads and started on the border. No update pic yet.

I did however take an update pic on another challenge that I joined. It was the New Year's Challenge. Just had to start a new project on New Year Day. I decided on Seasons by Vals Stitchin Stuff and here is a progress pic.

Finally received my laptop after UPS took an extra week to deliver and loving it so far!

Thought I would post some pics of my Saturday view.

After the snow storm:

My back deck was blanketed with over 18 inches...there is a grill under there somewhere! There is also a mini van under all of that crap LOL

I forgot a couple!

This is 4 Seasons Square by Sandman Originals. I finished this back in 2003 and it called for buttons but I decided to use charms instead.

I did this freebie to practice different stitches. It called for a frosted Dove treasure but I opted for the dragonfly charm instead :)

And this last one is just for Eye Candy!

For all of us that are huddling "under the desk". I brought some entertainment!

Oh but I have more!

Wise Men Came by Shepherd's Bush. I couldn't see putting out $10 for a charm so I found another that was comparable.

This tree came to me as a result of a defunct round robin exchange (the last one I ever joined). It was plain so I jazzed it up with some charms.

And some more stitching pics.

Here is Halloween by M Designs. I used fabric from Silkweaver and thread from Six Strand Sweets. The witch hat, candy corns and jack o lantern pumpkins were made by me. The bats, cat and stars are from Just Another Button Company and the others are plastic that I picked up along my travels. Now to get it framed.

And now for some stitchy photos!

Here are the Lizzie Kate Boxers from her 2006 series. I'm thinking a quilted wall hanging maybe?

Always into something!

Can't leave the cabinet open for a minute! This is Cali and I think she was looking for the catnip (it was on the other side) You should have seen the fight she gave me to get out of there LOL

Some updates

Even if I haven't been blogging I have been stitching a bit. I finished my boxer set by Lizzie Kate but need to iron them so I can take a pic. I also finished the Shepherd's Bush ornament "Wisemen Came" but need to iron and add the charm so I can take a pic. I have two update pictures to post. I have been working on Lemons Limes and More and also on Midi! I don't have anything pressing to do today so I'm going to putz around the house and am trying to talk myself into daring the freezing cold to go buy some thread heaven. I can't find mine and went to the Micheal's near work last week but they didn't have it. I really need it to do Midi's wings and have some other projects that use rayon and I won't even touch rayon without the Thread Heaven....I'm just not into self torture LOL
I started Seasons by Val's Stitchin Stuff for my New Years project thru 2MuchXS and also started Winter by Waxing Moon.
I also made and sold some buttons so that prompted me to update my clay on webshots and make a "For Sale" folder. All the sizes and prices are in the description.
Oh and for those that didn't hear...... I WON A CRUISE!
I work for Rite Aid and they have a contest going on right now called The Game of Life. I entered the game pieces (about 7 of them) and they drew my name in the weekly drawing! I couldn't believe it. It is a 7 day Carnival cruise for 2. They provide $1200 for airfare to my port of choice and cover the taxes and gratuities. I have decided to fly to San Juan, Puerto Rico and take the Eastern Carribean cruise. I want to go in the winter and don't have a passport yet. Since it takes about 2 months to get a passport I have decided to wait until Jan/Feb 2011. This way I can save money, lose weight and shop for clothes. :)
